A molecular lock and key technology for protecting goods, especially major brands, against counterfeiting and brand corruption or dilution, has been launched to help save millions of pounds for product developers worldwide.
The technique developed by UK company Biocode, provides products with an internal fingerprint for authentication and to render them tamper-proof.
It can be applied to liquids and solids, providing secure, covert marking systems traceable through simple field tests to protect revenues, products and consumers.
The Biocode additive is a harmless and inert solution that can be added to products at a minute level.
Products that can use the Biocode system include lubricants, fuels, pesticides, agrichemicals, paper, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, food, beverages, water treatment, clothing, machine parts, security labels and inspection seals.
