Access control specialist company Evolving Management Solutions (EMS) has announced a new generation 125 kHz proximity card reader. The two-piece, weatherproof reader, called the ProxPro II reader from HID Corporation, is fitted into a potted enclosure. It requires 5 V for operation and features flexible mounting options including glass.
Steve Mason, director at EMS, an authorised HID distributor in southern Africa, says, "Further features include multicolour LED and internal control or host control of the LED and beeper. The ProxPro II reader is available with a Wiegand or clock-and-data (magnetic stripe) interface and provides high reliability, consistent read range and is priced lower than the original ProxPro reader."
Compared to the original ProxPro reader which is still available, the new version provides additional read space, is weather and vandal resistant and mounts directly on metal with minimal impact on read range performance.
