Security MD sets sights on revolutionising local security industry

March/April 2002 News & Events

Newly appointed managing director of ADT Security South Africa, Danna Strydom, has set his sights on revolutionising the local industry by taking the lead in offering both business and residential customers innovative security services.

Strydom brings to the company a wealth of experience in all aspects of fire and security systems and services, having managed fire and security companies in South Africa as well as in the UK.

Strydom said ADT had made a significant impact in the market through its efforts to reduce crime and uplift the quality of life for all South Africans through the introduction of 'affordable' alarm systems through the company's seamless nationwide dealer network. He added that since ADT's entry into South Africa, the company had shown significant and consistent increases in its customer base on a national level.

"While offering the sophistication of a national operator and the back-up of a major international corporation, our endeavour is to give the hometown customer the friendliness of a local organisation."

ADT's Guarding division provides customised guarding services to clients in the corporate, commercial, industrial, domestic and community sectors. It also operates in collaboration with the armed response service and technical support division to enable ADT Security to furnish the market with a one-stop security solution.

According to Strydom, ADT has become involved in training programmes in the electronic security field. This initiative to stimulate job creation in the South African economy and provide a stream of formally qualified candidates needed to support ADT's growth plans is currently underway at seven education institutions throughout the country.

"I believe ADT is firmly entrenching its position as South Africa's premier security services company by maintaining its leading technological edge and reflecting the company's superiority not just in its monitoring centres, but in every product and service if offers."
