Amman Hotel upgrades security

October 2019 Surveillance, Entertainment and Hospitality (Industry)

Located at the heart of Amman, Jordan, the Landmark Amman Hotel is one of the most well-known 5-star hotels in the city, as well as a true local landmark. Boasting 17 flexible event spaces for everything from small intimate meetings to large-scale exhibitions, as well as 258 rooms, it is among the largest hotels in Jordan.

Dahua Technology was trusted with the job of keeping Landmark Amman Hotel safe in its surveillance improvement project.

The old analogue system the hotel was using was not easy to manage, apart from which, many of the cameras were broken. Another challenge concerned old system’s storage, which couldn’t meet the requirements of the local authorities.

A Dahua CCTV solution comprising IP cameras and NVRs solved the problems. The hotel installed a number of Dahua 4 MP WDR IR eyeball network cameras, which support Smart Coding (H.265+ and H.264+), intelligent video analysis, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Smart IR technology, and more.

The NVR4216-4KS2 is a 32-channel 1U network video recorder that supports 4K and H.265 encoding and can serve as edge storage, central storage or backup storage. It also includes an intuitive shortcut operation menu for remote management and control. Easy to install, it is compatible with numerous third-party devices making it the perfect solution for surveillance systems that work independently of video management systems (VMS). It features an open architecture that supports multi-user access and is compatible with ONVIF protocols, enabling interoperability with IP cameras.

The Dahua surveillance system has helped the Landmark Amman Hotel find a new way to enhance the guest experience through improving the level of security with reduced property damage and thefts in the hotel. It also improved the team cohesion and work efficiency of the hotel employees. Furthermore, the hotel is now in compliance with local authorities’ security and safety regulations.
