Fidelity Fire Solutions receives BSI accreditation

May 2019 Editor's Choice, Fire & Safety, News & Events

Fidelity Fire Solutions has announced that the company is one of the first fire solutions providers in South Africa to be awarded the British Standards Institution (BSI) certification for portable fire products. Receiving BSI accreditation for the company’s fire products is an international stamp of approval from one of the leading standards authorities in the world.

Certification by the BSI means that Fidelity Fire Solutions products are assessed and tested to internationally-recognised standards for quality and safety in line with the Pressure Equipment and National Building Regulations.

“What makes BSI certification unique is that to become fully certified not only must the product meet international standards, but the company’s operations are also evaluated against international standards and are required to meet the highest levels of quality and service,” says Andrew Worthington, GM for Fidelity Fire Solutions.

BSI accreditation is further endorsed by around 20 international accreditation bodies, including the American National Standards Institute (ANAB), The China National Accreditation Board (CNAB), Japan Accreditation Board (JAB), Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA) in the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Fidelity Fire Solutions is one of the first South African companies to receive BSI certification for:

• Portable refillable fire extinguishers – SANS 1910.

• Portable rechargeable fire extinguishers (CO2-type cylinders) – SANS 1567.

• Fire hose reels – SANS 543.

Fidelity Fire Solutions has also had its service centres accredited by BSI as per SANS 1475 requirements.

“We are honoured to qualify for full BSI certification which is a testament to the quality and customer service we provide,” says Worthington. The company offers portable fire products, large-scale integrated fire solutions including detection, suppression, gas and sprinkler systems as well as servicing and maintenance agreements across the country. The BSI certification further enhances the quality standards of Fidelity Fire Solutions’ products and is recognised nationally and internationally, surpassing the requirements of other national certifications offered.
