West Africa gets secure

October 2018 Training & Education, News & Events, Conferences & Events

Recognised as the leading security, fire and safety exhibition in the region, Securex West Africa brings together thousands of industry professionals over two days to experience product demonstrations and technology developments first-hand from the industries finest.

The Nigerian security market is vast, with rapid urbanisation requiring solutions on new commercial and residential property, industrial sites and infrastructure projects. These areas, coupled with the ongoing challenges in the oil rich Niger Delta and the insurgent activity in the far north of the country means there are plenty of projects that require solutions from the security industry. Not to mentioned the race to update current systems across the region to keep up with the ever-changing threats that are encountered.

Encompassing fire and safety, homeland, commercial and cybersecurity, Securex West Africa is an essential marketing tool for businesses both small and large to access influential industry professionals under one roof and start exploring the opportunities available within.

Taking place in Lagos from 16 – 17 April 2019, next year’s show is expected to continue to grow as it builds momentum from the previous year’s successful edition. With three-quarters of the floor space rebooked onsite during the 2018 exhibition, stands are moving fast as leading organisations in the industry look to secure their place at the region’s principal event. Among those confirmed to take part next year are ASSA ABLOY, Hikvision, Dromex, Kontz Engineering, Dahua, Net Global Systems and Matrix Comsec to name a few.

Taking over Hall One entirely at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, the 2018 exhibition saw a record 2344 qualified industry professionals in attendance, which was a 25% increase on the previous year. This included a mix of regional and international attendees from 17 countries, including: Nigeria, South Africa, Togo, Senegal, and Benin among others.

The exhibition’s regional director, George Pearson, commented; “We are delighted with the 2018 results, in particular, we feel the increase in visitor numbers directly reflects the growth opportunities within the market and how valuable the show is as a trade platform. Already we have big plans for next year’s show and we are excited to get more companies on board for 2019.”

With a host of interesting features to complement the exhibition, the event is expected to draw in thousands of eager industry members keen to discover key market trends, exclusive insights and offers.

The show’s free-to-attend conference, in addition to the cybersecurity-focused event; WACSS (West African Cyber Security Summit) will both once again take place alongside Securex West Africa in 2019, hosting industry experts as they share their knowledge and insights into the future of the security market. Among the keynote speakers in 2018 were, Dr Abdurrazaq Balogun, executive secretary/ CEO at the Lagos State Security Fund, and Ms Tanwa Ashiru, CEO, Defence, Intelligence and Security at Bulwark Intelligence.

Securex West Africa will continue to build on its platform as the sector’s most prominent business networking opportunity for the region and is not to be missed!
