Stallion Security hosted an open day in June in which clients and potential clients were invited to the company’s Johannesburg headquarters to learn more about the company and the various services it provides. Hosting the day, Stallion MD, Brad Soekoe and technical director, Kevin Monk, were on hand to welcome guests to the event.

More than simply talking about the services Stallion offers, the event was also aimed at highlighting the array of products and services Stallion can offer through its projects division. Various Stallion partners set up stands in the offices to demonstrate the various security products they have on offer.

The partners exhibiting included:

• TeleEye, which had a range of thermal cameras on show, backed up by a range of UAVs (drones). The company also used the Stallion parking area as a demonstration area for one of its drones.

• Pinnsec was there with a range of Axis IP cameras, the Milestone VMS and body-worn cameras.

• Elvey welcomed guests with a look at some of the alarm and DSC intrusion detection systems it distributes, as well as its Kedacom surveillance range.

• ADI Global Distribution was also on hand with intrusion and access control solutions.

• Gallagher made sure visitors got a good look at its perimeter solutions and the software designed to manage it all.

• Reditron was also on site with a display of Avigilon and Dahua surveillance solutions designed for almost any industry.

• Regal was touting the advantages of Hikvision surveillance solutions.

• Instacom was also there to highlight its secure communications and traceability solutions to the end-users visiting the event.

• Turnstar supplied various access control equipment from turnstiles, speed lanes, gripper barriers, mantrap booths and hydraulic bollards, displayed on various stands.

• Hi-Tech Security Solutions was also on hand to meet our readers and introduce ourselves to any visitors that didn’t know us.

B2B project focus

Hi-Tech Security Solutions asked Stallion MD, Brad Soekoe, why Stallion would decide to host an open day after almost 25 years of operations. He explained that, “Given exciting developments in security technology, together with growing interest from clients, Stallion identified the need to demonstrate both the technology available as well as Stallion’s ability to deliver a fully integrated security solution. Stallion believes that an open day like this is an ideal opportunity to engage with clients and demonstrate the scope of its services. It was also the opportunity to introduce its vastly improved projects division to clients and potential clients.”

Stallion is currently driving its technology business to position itself as a leading player in the project space within the technology market. The strategic sale of its reaction business has allowed Stallion to focus on its core focus of business-to-business security solutions. Soekoe added that over the past year or so, Stallion has made it a key priority to identify the best project skills in the country and bring them into the group.

This, combined with Stallions access to the latest cutting-edge technology available in the security industry, will position Stallion as a leader in the security solution project space. The event was a chance to introduce the division, its people, the product solutions it can offer and its capabilities to the market, demonstrating the ability of the company to provide top of the range turnkey security solutions, which includes a full remote monitoring operation.

Stallion is also focused on expanding its base of operations into Africa. Apart from its footprint throughout South Africa which supplies services to clients in every corner of the country (including technical teams that are permanently onsite at specific client locations), the company has branches in Namibia, Botswana and Ghana. Technical director, Kevin Monk said the African business is set to expand significantly, with one new country branch already in the pipeline.

Stallion’s Remote Site Monitoring (RSM) division provides monitoring services to around 250 clients, either via a black-screen approach or by dedicating people to constantly monitor specific clients’ sites from the control centre in Johannesburg. This is another area Soekoe said is growing quickly as companies are increasingly relying on technology for more of their security services.

In line with the integrated security solution Stallion retains its ability to supply highly trained experienced armed reaction teams to various facilities around the country. Soekoe explains that with crime and labour unrest on the rise and the police services often undermanned, the need for dedicated response teams on larger installations like mines and educational facilities has increased. Stallion is well known for its specialist Civil Unrest Team, which is equipped with armoured and surveillance-enabled vehicles to handle strike action that often results in violence and damage to property. This team has gained invaluable experience in protecting clients from unrest and riots, with over six years of experience in the field.

In thanking all the visitors and partners at its highly successful event, Soekoe reiterated that Stallion is focusing its efforts on growing the company, both in South Africa and throughout the continent, while also expanding its remote monitoring services.
