New country managers appointed for Milestone Middle East and Africa

Milestone Systems has announced the appointment of Mohammed Riyaz as country manager for the Middle East region and Armand Steffens as country manager for the African continent (except Northwest Africa).

This marks another step up in Milestone’s dedication to these fast-moving regions with an ever-growing demand for true open platform technology.

“We are gearing up the organisation to further support our strong growth in the Middle East and Africa,” says Christian Ringler, director Milestone Middle East, Africa and DACH. “By introducing a dedicated country manager for Africa and one for the Middle East, we will ensure a greater local presence in each region. Both candidates are dedicated to supporting our local partner communities, with the focus of creating optimal solutions for customers in their areas.”

Riyaz will head up the Middle East team, which includes offices in Jeddah and Dubai. Riyaz brings to Milestone a strong background in business strategy development and leadership of regional sales teams in the technical industry. With 11 years of experience in the Gulf markets, his peers see him as someone who is highly competent and easy to collaborate with.

“Collaborating effectively with partners to find the best solutions for our customers, is at the cornerstone of my work. I look forward to meeting up and to working with all our partners in the region,” Riyaz states.

Armand Steffens already has a proven track record with Milestone, as channel manager in South Africa. As country manager, he is taking on more responsibility and is covering the offices in Johannesburg as well as Beirut. It is his goal to ensure even greater focus is placed on the African markets for the further development of the local Milestone community.

Steffens will be building on his more than 15 years of experience in the industry to realise Milestone’s expansion strategy for the African continent. “Milestone is such a phenomenal company. I immediately became passionate about it. The culture, the people, organisation and the products are all targeted to deliver on our mission and vision. Together with my team in Africa, I would like to echo the Milestone values and further embed Africa into the Milestone community.”
