New video intercom solution

1 May 2017 Access Control & Identity Management

Dahua has launched a new intelligent video intercom solution to enable residential compounds, office buildings and other areas requiring audio and video intercom to manage visitors and in-house communication using less manual labour while delivering better safety and higher efficiency. SIP is an international standard video phone protocol, featuring open and easy access.

The end-to-end Dahua video intercom systems support standard SIP protocols, providing reliable cameras, a mobile phone app, integrated platform and intelligent technologies to ensure users are well guarded.

The Dahua Video Intercom Solution was designed with four featured functions.

• Intercom: Intercom units can be installed indoors or you can choose a SIP phone. Units installed next to doors and indoor areas can be equipped with audio and video intercom, and SIP phones with voice intercom. SIP phones can create group calls between indoor units so people are able to listen in from anywhere. Two-way calls can be made between all devices and management centres, enabling calls to be made for emergency assistance to property management centres.

• Mobile app: The SIP solution is designed with a mobile phone app function, so when visitors drop by and press the intercom’s button, it will be forwarded through the indoor unit to your phone. When you go out, you can set calls to be forwarded directly to your mobile phone, ensuring that responding to visitors is quick and easy.

• Security: House doors can be installed with a single-button device to serve as a secondary confirmation by guests. Indoor devices provide real-time IPC monitoring and can switch between multiple channels. In addition, the indoor units can also be connected to alarm sensors, providing all-round security.

• Platform management: SIP Server VTSS5000 is an integrated system for video intercom and video management offering storage services, an operating system and hardware in one box, enabling easy deployment. The VTSS5000 can manage 5 000 video intercom IDs and 200 IP devices and is a professional management platform that can be used in fields requiring video intercoms. The embedded Linux system is safe and reliable.

2-Wire Apartment Video Intercom

Dahua has also launched its 2-Wire Apartment Video Intercom System to provide a cost effective, fast, simple, and convenient way to upgrade analogue intercom systems.

The VTNS1006A-2 switch and the VTH5222CH indoor unit use a two-wire interface. The switch is connected to the indoor unit using any two wires, which is used for signal transmission and power. There is no polarity and the switch has a network interface to connect with external networks and communicate with regular IP devices. The maximum supported distance between the switch and the device is 100 metres, while the maximum supported distance between switches is 30 m.

With the VTO1210C-X large apartment outdoor station, each unit can support a maximum of 20 outdoor stations and 1000 indoor monitors. Each switch can support a maximum of six indoor monitors and only two series connections are needed between switches. The maximum number of switch connections is 30 m.

Each household can install a maximum of five VTH5222CH indoor monitors which can be used for group calls, and calls can be answered anywhere within the household; within the household, users may communicate with each other through the indoor monitors.

Indoor monitors can monitor IPC in real-time, and connect with wired alarm and detection devices to implement 24-hour protection using Smart PSS management software that can be downloaded from the official website. It is convenient and facilitates smart management of entire areas.

The 2-wire apartment system can accept visitor calls through the intercom system and remotely unlock the door after ID confirmation. In addition, it can also initiate real-time surveillance, capture screen shots, record video, receive alarm information remotely, and monitor the house in real time to give you peace of mind while you are away.
