Products of the Year: Aludi Technologies enjoys most productive year ever

December 2001 News & Events

Aludi Technologies, a leading local supplier, installer and solutions systems integrator, has enjoyed its most productive year ever, with the completion of some of the most prestigious projects in the industry, including Menlyn Shopping Centre, The Pavilion and Carnival City. Current projects also include Melrose Arch, Rosebank Mall and The Firs in Johannesburg, Greenacres in Port Elizabeth and additions to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

In September, the Lesotho Government's Finance Minister officially launched the Aludi-installed cross-border vehicle control and toll collection system at three of its largest border posts, including Maseru. This installation, comprising equipment designed around the traditional pay-on-foot system, has greatly improved the ability of the Lesotho Road Fund to collect vehicle toll levies.

One of Aludi's latest projects demonstrates the full versatility of the company as a systems integrator, with the installation of fire detection, access control and time and attendance at the new Midrand premises of Merck SA. Aludi continues to supply, install and maintain new and upgraded Cardkey access control systems, both locally and in numerous other African countries.

In September Aludi moved to new premises in Hillside Road in Parktown. The move to these modern, spacious premises was prompted by the fact that Aludi had outgrown its Northcliff premises. The move was also necessitated by the need to be closer to the freeway system to allow speedier access for the teams of technicians and support staff, to enable them to continue to provide Aludi's high standard of customer care and service excellence.

Aludi Technologies posted good results for the first six-month period to June 2001 and the directors expect the year results to be even better. The company is forecasting turnover for its current financial year of R50 million - an increase of 50% over the previous 12 months.

A recent drive into other African countries has already resulted in Aludi's involvement in projects in the Seychelles, Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Lesotho and Ghana.
