Digital recorders

Reditron's experience in the digital recording market extends back to 1994 when it introduced the first digital recorders to the country, the Unicord digital recorders from Dedicated Micros. Today, Reditron's range is extensive and is designed to cater for almost any possible recording requirement.

The Baxall DTL 960E is Reditron simplest digital recorder. Designed as an analog recorder upgrade unit, the DTL 960E is a single input recorder that literally plugs into an existing system in place of the old VCR. The company's Rediview digital recorder fills the needs of most 16-channel standalone recording requirements.

Suitable for smaller retail outlets, factories, petrol stations and offices, Rediview offers two different compression algorithms, various hard drive sizes to cater for differing storage requirements, advanced activity detection, scheduled recording per camera at varying recording rates, alarm inputs/outputs and a composite video monitor output.

The Falcon FS range is a fully networkable range catering for a multitude of network applications. Because Falcon runs as a Windows NT service and is therefore fully networkable allowing multiple simultaneous clients from standard Windows-based applications. Multiple security access levels ensure system integrity and data storage. Falcon's unique base-station technology logs onto four different Falcon servers simultaneously and offers a comprehensive alarm management system. Falcon is the preferred product of some of this country's largest multinationals based on its pricing, operating system and archiving capabilities over TCP/IP networks.

Reditron's Digi-Eye is an embedded system with its own proprietary operating system and hardware. Some of Digi-Eyes unique features include an advanced motion detection with multiple settings per camera with varying levels of sensitivity, a built-in mini matrix switcher, individual recording settings (frame rate and resolution) for each camera, camera fault detection and Digi-Eye's unique 'fault tolerant file system' (FTFS).

For high-resolution recording, the Sony HSR ll digital recorder is the only recorder in the Reditron range capable of recording at a true 500-line resolution. The Sony digital recorder is mainly used in high security applications where resolution is the primary consideration. The Sony HSR ll can be networked with the use of the Sony Net-station unit (an optional extra). Also available through Reditron is DM's award-winning Digital Sprite range of digital recorders

Designed to have the look and feel of a traditional CCTV system Digital Sprite combines digital multiplexing, digital recording, multiple user network viewing and inbuilt high speed dome control in a single easy-to-use and install package. A unique feature of the Digital Sprite is its ability to notify five e-mail addresses on alarm.

IP addressable camera ranges

Reditron's range of IP addressable cameras are from both Baxall and JVC. Seven hundred Baxall IP cameras have been installed at Brussels International Airport. IP addressable cameras make full use of the flexibility and transmission speed of modern networks. Systems are currently being designed for various mines, large industrial sites and freeway systems that would not previously have been possible before the advent of the IP addressable camera technology.
