UltraDome gets tough

Integrated solutions specialist Ultrak, has launched a new line of camera domes to complement its highly acclaimed UltraDome range.

The new 'Rugged' KD6, is a vandal resistant camera specifically designed for installation in both indoor and outdoor high-risk applications. Manufactured to withstand high mechanical impacts in accordance with industry standard IP549, the dome is also dust-tight and weatherproof. Securing access to the high-impact acrylic lower dome is a single tamper resistant key-lock, with no other mounting screws accessible from the outside.

Designed to provide maximimum security surveillance performance, all 8" Rugged UltraDomes feature 360° continuous rotation, variable pan speed up to 400°/second, 100 programmable pre-shots with 24 character on-screen labels, 10 programmable guard tours, and four on-board alarm inputs. Further advanced specifications include an integrated 460TV line resolution, 1,7 lux SuperHAD CCD colour camera with 18x optical, 4x digital zoom lens, supported by the option of an automatic colour/mono switching camera, suitable for low light surveillance applications down to 0,015 lux.

Along with a host of performance features such as auto focus and iris, with manual override to provide flexibility of installation, the Rugged UltraDome features an integral heavy construction aluminium swivel mounting bracket that enables the unit to be mounted on the wall or ceiling. An optional interface board with 'over-the-coax' and unshielded twisted pair outputs is also available for video/telemetry transmission. Catering for a variety of internal and external CCTV applications, the device's lower dome is offered in a choice of either clear, or smoked finish. Rugged UltraDome is compatible with Ultrak's range of CCTV control equipment, and other manufacturer's equipment using the Ultrak operating protocol.
