Morpho launches midrange readers

Morpho South Africa has released the MorphoAccess Sigma Lite Series. The range includes two design options, one offering an interactive 2.8-inch colour touch screen and the other features a LED indicator to assist users in the access control process. Both designs offer multiple card reader options (Prox, iClass or MIFARE/DESFire contactless card reader).

This fingerprint access terminal offers swift identification of 1:10 000 users in 1 second and the readers can cope with 30 000 templates and 250 000 IDs in an authorised user list, and one million logs.

The Web embedded server enables users of laptops, tablets or smartphones to connect, and trigger on-device enrolment, configure terminals or retrieve transaction logs, ensuring easy administration in mid-range organisations.

The range was designed for installation onto narrow mounting surfaces like server rack doors and glass aluminium doors in areas that require a high level of security. The secure device has fake finger detection, duress finger option and tamper switches.

“The release of the Sigma Lite Series has been long awaited by the market. It complements the MorphoAccess Sigma series family and with added features, it presents value for money,” said Paul Jeremias, Morpho South Africa MD.

The Sigma Lite series is housed in a waterproof IP65 and vandal resistant (IK08) casing to ensure they can withstand the pressures of long-term use, while retaining their aesthetic appeal.
