Book your stand at Securex 2016

November 2015 News & Events, Conferences & Events

With still six months to go until the doors open between 24 and 26 May 2016 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, exhibitors are clearly demonstrating their confidence in the Securex 2016 exhibition with a flurry of stand bookings.

According to the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA), South Africans spent just under R70-billion with security companies in the period 2013 to 2014. A study undertaken by PSiRA in collaboration with the IRDC (Canada) has revealed that it is no longer realistic to consider the provision of security as the sole preserve of the police: “The private security actors have ‘invaded’ the security space, not necessarily for purposes of usurping the mandate of the police, but as a result of a constant demand for safety and security on the part of those who can afford to pay for such services.

“This opens up opportunities for collaboration to take place between the government’s security forces and companies in the private security sector. There is simply no better place to promote your security technology and services than at Africa’s largest and most comprehensive security and fire exhibition – Securex 2016. We have already sold 58% of total stand space so we encourage potential exhibitors to contact the sales team without delay to ensure they don’t miss out on this unparalleled opportunity to interact with the leading professionals in the security and fire sectors,” says Joshua Low, Securex event director at Specialised Exhibitions.

“The feedback we received from the 2015 exhibitors was extremely positive, with many companies not only making contact with potential customers, but also signing deals at the event. Visitors were complimentary about the array of products and services available and many will be returning in 2016 to source their security and fire requirements. We noted a substantial increase of 12% in visitors at the 2015 exhibition, which bodes well for a bumper show in 2016,” says Low.

Another branding opportunity exists for exhibitors at Securex 2016 in the form of niche sponsorships. “We have already sold a number of sponsorship packages but there are still some packages available. Remember that each package is unique, so your branding efforts will be maximised due to this exclusivity. Our sales team can discuss the best sponsorship option for an exhibitor, centred on their specific marketing goals and budgetary constraints. Based on feedback from previous Securex sponsors, this is definitely an opportunity worth pursuing for companies intent on increasing their customer database and footprint,” Low points out.

Industry association endorsements are very important for Securex, since they drive marketing of the exhibition to visitors and add further credibility to the integrity of the show. To date, Securex 2016 has been rubber stamped by SIA, FPASA and SANSEA and the organisers are currently in discussions with a number of associations who gave their support to the exhibition in 2015.

“We embark on a very aggressive marketing campaign to ensure that visitors are drawn to the exhibition. Part of this drive is communicating with foreign and other African embassies. We welcomed a number of cross-border visitors to the 2015 event and we are currently in discussion with embassy personnel to increase visitor numbers for 2016,” adds Low.

To book a stand or discuss a sponsorship package, prospective exhibitors are encouraged to contact Sven Riddle or Zelda Jordaan on: [email protected] or [email protected] or visit www.securex.co.za.
