Web-based HR management

November 2001 Asset Management

Q Data DynamiQue (QDD), the e-HR solution specialist in the PQ Africa group, has announced the local availability of iBrowse, a tool for collecting, validating and analysing HR and labour costing information.

iBrowse provides employees and supervisors with a location-independent tool for entering and reviewing attendance, absence and activity-based costing information in Internet or intranet configurations. The solution is the latest module in QDD's time accounting suite, a time and attendance solution incorporating TimeKeeper-PC, a time and attendance module.

iBrowse is an employee and supervisor-oriented gateway to TimeKeeper's database. It allows users to review, edit, add and report on attendance and absence or any job-related information via the Internet or company intranet, with options allowing for employees in remote sites to be monitored.

"Time and attendance has always focused on the blue collar worker and access control environments," says Rob Bothma, Director of Product Strategy Marketing at QDD. "iBrowse now makes activity-based reporting available for professional organisations, in addition to traditional time and attendance markets. It enables consultants, project teams, accounting and legal firms - and employees in any environment where monitoring time is essential in ensuring company profitability - to monitor and control the number of hours worked."

iBrowse can be used by employees - providing access to their own data, and supervisors - providing access to user-defined employees and groups. It filters and specifies the data format and employee group to display for each supervisor, significantly streamlining the review and authorisation process. It allows access to daily and pay period information and supports advanced auditing features based on company policies. iBrowse also supports viewing original and audited punches, and prints HTML reports to employee or supervisor e-mail addresses.

"We are targeting iBrowse at the professional market, and at users who have access to a PC," says Bothma. "Linked with time and attendance, and job costing, it allows the user to log time against a job, project or client, and is more comprehensive than merely recording and billing hours."
