Recently playing host to the G8 summit, the Italian coastal city of Genoa entrusted the visual monitoring of its historic medieval centre to equipment supplied by integrated solutions specialist, Ultrak.
Installed as a temporary system for the duration of the world leaders' conference, 22 Ultrak colour/mono switchable UltraDome KD6 cameras were deployed to provide 24 h surveillance monitoring of the old inner city's harbour and major historical buildings.
Connected via an Ethernet network to a centrally located control room, the 460TV line resolution, UltraDome camera system was deployed to protect valuable art collections displayed within the city's many museums and art galleries. A second system, consisting of 28 Ultrak digital video recorders, was also deployed throughout the area.
