Security trends for 2015

A new year brings with it new possibilities and a chance to change the face of technology. These are some of the trends that Elvey expects to see in 2015.

Convergence: As consumers rapidly become more convenience and speed oriented, technology is following suit. To cater to these consumer needs, technology is becoming more network driven and multidimensional. In 2015 we can expect a continued convergence of technologies in CCTV, access control and intrusion.

The cloud: Furthermore we take a look at how system integrators, installers and the end user interact with the systems they install or use through the cloud. There will be growing opportunities that exist using the cloud as the acceptance of its services becomes more prevalent in the South African market. The main driver of cloud adoption is the growing size of tech savvy consumers and the value add that these services offer the monitoring company, installer and the end user.

Challenging economic climate: The economy will continue to be tough for the consumer as they will increasingly be put under pressure through increased costs of living.

Overall, 2015 should be positive with a lot of interesting new technology to build on and offer customers. The security landscape is changing in that systems are now no longer just security systems but offer a whole lot more in interactive services and automation with exceptional interaction for the end user and installer alike.
