Maxxess announces eFusion v.6

1 August 2014 Security Services & Risk Management

Maxxess has announced the release of version 6 of its security management software platform, eFusion, during the IFSEC International exhibition at London’s ExCel. With over 50 new features and enhancements to the platform, the eFusion upgrade is available to existing customers subscribed to software support plans at no extra cost.

The latest version 6 eFusion is evidence of the signature Maxxess approach to offering pragmatic and off-the-shelf technology to tackle increasingly complex and multi-layered security challenges. eFusion’s rich connectivity accurately distributes information to the right people, at the right time to give organisations complete situational awareness of their security assets and personnel, enabling a faster and more informed response to incidents.

Speaking at the show, Lee Copland, MD of Maxxess, EMEA, said, “With version 6, we are further eliminating the complexity and expense of security systems integration to offer even more off-the-shelf functionality. Taking over legacy and new hardware together with new ONVIF compatibility, we’re enabling customers to leverage existing investments and choose best of breed technology.”

The Maxxess team demonstrated eFusion’s extended integration capabilities, taking visitors through the technical and commercial benefits across the entire security buying chain. With an extended range of third-party off-the-shelf integrations accommodating both new and legacy hardware and systems, the Maxxess team highlighted new integration with DirectIP, the high-performance surveillance solution from IDIS. The two companies joined forces to show visitors how to efficiently manage events and improve response times through the eFusion platform utilising high definition (HD) video surveillance.

The demonstration showed that when an incident occurs, operators can visually verify a threat, while automated policies and procedures provide the information necessary for security teams to initiate a fast and appropriate response. Reducing operator interaction and automating reporting with video evidence, Maxxess eFusion can improve productivity, fill security gaps, and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures, while acting as a force multiplier for multi-site operations.

Nancy Islas, president of Maxxess, commented, “We are extending the power of our eFusion platform to make security personnel more efficient across everyday operations while saving precious time responding to threats and emergencies. We look forward to announcing further 2014 innovations when we take Maxxess and eFusion beyond the ambit of physical security and building automation to leverage cloud technology and an increasingly mobile workforce.”

Technical features and enhancements in the Version 6 eFusion release include:

* New operating system support including Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012.

* New database support including SQL Server 2012.

* New hardware support including PCSC FTC/DDM/SDM and wireless locking.

* Biometric enrolment capability.

* Routing and escalation options for alarm messages.

* Automatic addition of the doors, outputs and sensors.

* ONVIF compatibility.

* Extended IP camera support and video management software (VMS) integration from a new range of manufacturers.
