Miro an official distributor for Sunell

June 2014 News & Events

International security camera specialist Sunell recently formalised a partnership which will see Miro distributing its IP and analogue cameras within the southern African region. Izelle Vermeulen, IP video product manager at Miro says the company believes the Sunell range offers exceptional value in both analogue and IP cameras. “This will give us the opportunity to offer our clients a complete solution to suit their needs and pocket. Sunell has huge potential to grow within the southern African and Miro target markets.”

MJ Oosthuizen, international business development manager for Sunell Security, explains that the company opted to partner with Miro because it is one of the few distributors that is still focused on building and supporting select brands, rather than just stacking boxes onto shelves. This, combined with the transparent fashion in which the team at Miro does business, fits in perfectly with the strategy for the channel Sunell decided to focus on for its growth into the southern African arena.

He adds that Sunell prides itself to have always provided OEM manufacturing to reputable companies. “Coming from an IT background, I was looking for a partner with the network knowledge plus the passion for technology to build the Sunell brand into the IT segment within the surveillance industry of sub-Saharan Africa.”

Oosthuizen believes that the partnership between Sunell and Miro will be setting the pace for a faster migration to IP video within the next year in the local market, with exciting new products being launched during the coming few quarters.

“Selling an IP camera is easy, but offering a true network solution, from infrastructure to the video on the other side requires solid support and the range to make it work. The combination of Sunell and Miro’s already extensive network offering makes it the perfect partner for your next IP video application,” he says.

According to Vermeulen, Sunell is an innovative company with a very strong research and development department. “We are really excited about this new product range and look forward to a good partnership. It is also the first time that Miro will offer analogue video products.”
