Philips CSI introduces Plena+

October 2001 Infrastructure

The new Philips Plena+ family of public address equipment builds on the success of the original Plena system.

Plena+ is a complete range of public address solutions for large or small applications. It is a family of system elements that enables the user to specify and install PA systems tailored to most application needs. The range includes mixer amplifiers and pre-amplifiers, system amplifiers and booster amplifiers, a source unit (CD/tuner) and dedicated call stations.

The Philips Plena+ offers a Plena mono mixer amplifier that has four microphone inputs and separate emergency and music inputs with additional functionality like: priority assignment, VOX switching, speed filters and two-tone chimes. The dual-zone model directs sound to two separate areas - particularly useful if announcements or background music need not be heard everywhere. Simplicity and compatibility is an essential part of the Plena+ range and all models of the mixer amplifiers have interconnection facilities for connecting external sound processing equipment as an equaliser between the pre-amplifier and power-amplifier ranges.

With just one cable linking units and call stations together, the Plena+ facilitates modification and allows easy integration with existing equipment or units from other manufacturers. The plug-and-play concept also encourages correct use from the end-user.
