Kallix integrated surveillance and storage system(KiSS) provides the most complete networked digital recording solution.

October 99 Surveillance

Kallix Corporation, a global provider of digital recording, storage and transmission solutions, has announced the first plug-and-play utility network for the security industry. KiSS (Kallix integrated surveillance and storage) is an Ethernet-LAN based system and can operate standalone or interface with an existing network, representing the market's first solution to provide security users with bandwidth and network capabilities independent of the MIS network.

KiSS comprises one video server (DSMS-100) and six recorders (DSMS-50/Junior). All KiSS components integrate seamlessly and are controlled from the video server. Each component has 4 video inputs accommodating 28 cameras system-wide. The components are 19" and rack-mountable in the control room or wall/desk mounted at the camera site and cabled back into the control room. KiSS systems can be networked together to accommodate any number of cameras.

Each KiSS comes complete with internal cabling, Ethernet hub, network and remote access software, standard 58,8 GB of hard disk storage (upgradable) and the Kallix Deluxe software package. Kallix offers a storage server to accompany the KiSS expanding storage up to 140 GB. This enables a process of realtime storage on internal drives and archival storage on the storage server.

"Kallix remains ahead of the curve in bringing to market the most technologically advanced solutions to the security industry. KiSS will penetrate this market quickly eliminating the battle for bandwidth and storage with the MIS network," says Robin Ong, President, Kallix Corporation. "Cost-effective scalability is the foundation of the KiSS system providing high quality performance with the customer's budget in mind. Our building block approach to system design gives the system integrator and the end-user the most versatility and the greatest return on investment."
