Upperpoint Manufacturing, supported by its equity partner, PPM Ventures, recently announced that it had acquired TDSi Group, headquartered in Poole, Dorset, UK. TDSi designs and manufactures a range of access control products that includes patented infrared card and reader technologies.
Alun John, Chief Executive of Upperpoint Manufacturing, commented: "Our CCTV manufacturing subsidiary, Baxall, has invested heavily in developing products to service the rapidly growing networked video markets as well as the more traditional analog-based systems. The acquisition of TDSi provides us with an excellent product range, distribution network and a first-class development programme. Each business will focus on its own speciality but will cooperate in developing common IP-based products designed to satisfy the emerging market for integrated access control and CCTV solutions.
