Meet your ESDA member: Sensor Security Systems

January 2014 News & Events

Sensor Security Systems is one of the last privately-owned security distributors in South Africa. Born in the Western Cape a decade ago, the company has branched out to Gauteng with satellite branches and representatives in other areas. Since the inception of the Gauteng operation, the company’s growth has been phenomenal. World-renowned brands and relentless commitment to set the industry standard in client relationships and service has been but one of the factors underpinning Sensor’s success.

Today, Sensor is a specialist distributor of surveillance, public address (EVAC) products. Jean Brown, CEO, says its aim is to keep setting – and raising – the industry standard. “We strive to add value through engaged personal relationships, value-for-money, quality products and exceptional after-hour and after-sales service. Our team consists of experienced, knowledgeable staff committed to service excellence.

Brown adds that Sensor’s product ranges are mostly aimed at the middle to higher market. “In fact, anyone who takes our industry seriously and wishes to obtain quality products are potential Sensor clients.

“Sensor is relatively small which means we can adapt quickly to changing market conditions and demands.

When asked why people work with Sensor, Brown says all employees believe they work for the best company in the industry. “Each and every team member was already successful in their own right before they joined Sensor. Our expectation is that each team member would be willing to walk the proverbial extra mile. The belief that we work for a very special company and our culture of constantly improving what we do finds its way through to our clients.

Sensor’s product range includes the following: Bosch (closed circuit television (CCTV), public address systems (PA) and Fire and Protection Services), Hikvision and BFR Digital. “We have two requirements for successful product distribution: availability of stock and sound technical support.”

Brown concludes: “Our aim is not necessarily to be the biggest industry player, but we certainly commit to living our slogan of 'setting the industry standard' in the way we do business.
