Reditron brings SeeTec Cayuga VMS to South Africa

November 2013 News & Events

In 1999, SeeTec developed what was believed to be the world’s first network-based video management software. The new SeeTec Cayuga is now a further demonstration of the company’s innovative creativity. Reditron (exclusive distributors in SA of the comprehensive range of software solutions offered by SeeTec) has brought the new SeeTec Cayuga VMS to the South African market.

According to SeeTec, the design has been inspired by the experience of many thousands of projects, which have given them the knowledge and innovation to develop their next generation of video management software. The SeeTec Cayuga has been engineered so that the user can experience video management in a new dimension. SeeTec calls it “inspired sense”.

SeeTec Cayuga is at the core of the SeeTec Multi Solution Platform. With this modular system concept, SeeTec Cayuga offers a range of application options extending far beyond the traditional security sector. Thanks to a variety of many different modules and interfaces that can be docked onto the SeeTec Cayuga core software, individual, scalable video management solutions are produced for almost every conceivable application and purpose – solutions that are as unique as a fingerprint.

The Cayuga software incorporates a whole host of new features. For example, the modern and structured user interface allows intuitive and efficient system operations – even on touch devices. In addition, the new redundancy concept allows the SeeTec Cayuga installation to continue working even if recording or management servers fail.

By creating several administrative levels the user can also map a company’s organisational structures within the SeeTec solution. Furthermore, the new generic analytics interface allows the integration of third-party analytics components.

The extension with the SeeTec Business Suites means that SeeTec Cayuga is also able to support and optimise business processes in the areas of logistics, wholesale and retail trading, transportation and finance. To achieve this, video data are linked to process and business related company data to generate new sector and customer specific insights. The business suites include a range of different interfaces, such as to PoS, RFID or warehousing systems, as well as analysis tools such as object and people counting.

The product range has also changed in line with the new developments, so instead of Probox and Enterprise SeeTec now offers three main product lines to better meet the requirements of different installation sizes and scopes. All products can now be operated with a flexible number of camera channels. As known from SeeTec 5, all products use the same technical basis and upgrades can be performed just by exchanging the licence key.
