Suprema has announced the introduction of BioMini slim, a fingerprint scanner specifically designed to provide a high-level security solution for desktop PC and complex network environments.
BioMini Slim is packed in a sleek and ergonomic design, and features Suprema’s latest slim 500 dpi optical sensor with large platen size (18 mm x 25,4 mm) for easier capturing. Its rugged IP65 rated structure ensures protection against dust and splashes.
BioMini Slim makes use of Suprema’s advanced fingerprint algorithm, that has received top results in NIST MINEX tests and FVC, ensuring fast matching speeds of 100 000 matches within a second (with Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent processor). With its proven reliability of FBI-PIV and FAP20 certifications, BioMini Slim features advanced live finger detection (LFD) technology for added security.
Other features include a USB 2.0 high-speed interface, support for multiple device handling, automatic finger placement detection as well as an ergonomic indication LED.
Combined with its comprehensive SDK solution, BioMini Slim offers superb hardware and software compatibility, making it an ideal platform for developers. BioMini SDK provides for easy application development, supports MS Windows and Linux as well as a mix of programming languages (VC++, VB, VB.NET, C#, and Java).
The BioMini Slim is expected to arrive in South Africa later this year.
