Tablet for the real world

August 2013 Infrastructure

Syntech has announced the availability of the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A1, a rugged, Android-powered tablet that is designed for security, firefighting and emergency medical services. Extremely durable and secure, the Toughpad is ideal for people in high risk environments, combining highly secured data and device management with the seamless connectivity and enterprise-grade technology emergency services personnel require.

The Toughpad provides a powerful and extremely secure mobile computing solution. Able to access vital and classified information in the field, the Toughpad gives emergency staff the integrated features and options required to find answers and make decisions.

The Toughpad FZ-A1 is American military MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certified, which means they can easily withstand extreme drops, water, dust, levels of fire exposure and freezing temperatures. This elevated level of durability results in tablets that deliver reliability in practically any environment – ensuring maximum productivity.

The FZ-A1 is the only tablet that is FIPS 140-2 (Level 2) compliant with a dedicated security core for data encryption and includes pre-installed, persistent drivers for approved smartcard readers. Toughpad tablets are designed to operate for many years beyond a consumer tablet and each tablet features a full daylight-readable display developed specifically for use in difficult environments.

Whether you operate within a security, fire or EMS environment, or any of a wide variety of inspection and safety organisations, companies require powerful tools to perform essential services. Engineered to perform in any environment, Toughpad tablets provide the dependability and low maintenance that facilitate rapid response times with minimal downtime at a lower cost.

Fully sealed and disinfectable with a bright screen for superior visibility and a long battery life for full-shift productivity, Toughpad tablets are designed for continued performance.

Panasonic and its partners design a wide assortment of heavy-duty docks, mounts and other peripherals – including readers, printers and adaptors – to expand and enhance Toughpad’s capabilities. From docking stations that secure the Toughpad in police and utility vehicles; to smartcard and magnetic strip readers that scan data from credit cards, driver’s licences and other IDs; to mobile printers, no other tablet offers all the capabilities of the Toughpad.
