CSI provides unique fire and environmental protection.

October 99 News & Events

Established in 1981, Computer Site Installations (CSI) is an industry leader in the design and construction of computer environments and data networks, from the supply of data, voice, and electrical cabling, through to air conditioning, security and access control and features such as fire detection.

As a company involved in providing a turnkey solution to clients and as a serious industry player, CSI utilises best-of-breed products and does some research and development of its own.

One device developed by the company is its mimic panel. A true South African product - the mimic panel was designed, developed and patented by CSI. The device keeps tabs on water infiltration, heat exposure, power failure, fire alarms and other unusual circumstances. If there are major humidity or heat fluctuations or if someone tampers with the system, the mimic panel automatically raises an alarm and automatically sets the computer system to call five people and alert them of impending disaster.

This device has proved invaluable for many clients - especially at security-sensitive operations such as financial, corporate and even medical aid facilities.

Two CSI clients that have had the mimic panel installed are the Fulcrum Bank and Impilo and Sizwe Medical Aids and both have found the device highly effective in monitoring and providing a timeous warning system.

CSI offers a fully integrated service from the design, installation and termination of fibre optics and state-of-the-art wiring systems, to networking, electrical reticulation, power conditioning, to air conditioning unit installation end even access flooring.
