Surge Technology's HV Division supplies a complete range of locally manufactured portable earthing and short-circuiting devices to ensure the safety of personnel while working on low, medium and high voltage electrical systems.

The devices are designed to withstand the full system fault current conditions, including the maximum initial AC short-circuit current component for the duration of the fault.

When testing, the devices simulate the worst possible conditions, and they comply with the electrical, mechanical and humidity penetration requirements as prescribed in the new national standard SABS IEC 61230:1994.
