Print Receiver aids investigations

September 2001 Access Control & Identity Management

The Print Receiver from Bartronics allows for a printout of the movements to and from premises in the event of a breach of security. For example, imagine this situation: an office block or block of flats, a break-in between 12 midnight and 7 a.m. the following morning. No idea who came or went into the site between these hours? A printout of the movement, such as one provided by Print Receiver, to and from the premises, would greatly assist in an investigation.

The Print Receiver is operated using a remote control for the access part of the system and is coupled to a printer. The full details (year, month, day, hours, minutes, seconds and the remote control number) is printed as the remote control is operated when entering the premises. The unit is capable of recording a total of 242 uniquely coded remote controls.

The receiver which resembles a standard remote control receiver is connected directly to a standard serial printer. In addition, it is also equipped with a set of dry contacts for the access control system.

The unit has a 99-year calendar to keep the dates correct even in leap years. The remote controls can operate the receiver at up to 300 m. Other possible uses are keeping records of panic activation's in a hospital, a guard monitoring system or simple stock control access system.
