Back-up alarm transmitter

September 2001 Infrastructure

SUR-GARD Communications has introduced its all-new Links 1000 GSM cellular network alarm transmitter. The GSM 1000 alarm transmitter enhances the protection provided by a security system, providing a reliable back-up to the control panel's normal telephone line to the monitoring station.

If the control panel is unable to complete an alarm transmission through the normal telephone because of line problems, the GSM 1000 will be activated and will transmit the alarm over the GSM network. Alternatively, the GSM 1000 can be programmed to be the primary alarm communicator. With its intelligent connection to DSC control panels, the unit can be set to send certain signals via the GSM network, while others are sent via the normal digital telephone line communicator.

In addition, the GSM 1000 leaves the normal telephone line connection available for downloading of programming information, event logs and other necessary maintenance and control information. The GSM 1000 works with the following compatible control panels: DSC Power 832, PC 5010 Version 1.0 or later and PC 5015 Version 2.0 or later; DSC Power 608, PC 5008 Version 2.0 or later; Maxsys PC 4010 Version 1.0 or later, PC 4020 Version 1.0 or later, and PC 4020KT Version 1.0 or later; New Classic PC 585 Version 2.1 or later, PC 1565 Version 2.0 or later and PC 1580 Version 1.0 or later.
