Geutebrück does logistics

April 2013 News & Events

Geutebrück SA recently launched its logistics and supply chain solutions to the local market at an event in Johannesburg. The attendees were given an introduction to the supply chain solution from guests from the company’s German headquarters.

When it comes to logistics today, the systems businesses require are more challenging and complex than ever; and at the same time, global competition is fiercer than ever, as are standards and legislation different territories demand.

Geutebrück focuses on video systems that are enhanced with speciality software it has designed specific to logistics situations. The company says one of its primary benefits in this field (and others) is its guaranteed backwards compatibility, which ensures customers can expand their systems over time without worrying about having to update older technology. Unlike other manufacturers, Geutebrück ensures customers can count on being able to use its older products along with its latest models without integration complexities.

The company understands that a comprehensive logistics system requires more than cameras and Geutebrück therefore also offers software development kits (SDK) to make it easier for third parties to integrate their systems, such as alarms, into the overall solution.

Not only does the company offer solutions, but will consult with clients to design and deliver the best logistics solution for their environment. This includes solutions such as barcode scanning and product counting while still on the conveyor belt, as well as loading dock surveillance to ensure that the precise number of products required are actually loaded onto trucks so that there is no possibility of incorrect numbers arriving at customers’ premises and so forth.

It also includes more traditional surveillance functionality that covers perimeter and intrusion management, entrance management, warehouse management as well as control room functionality and technology.

As more companies focus on cutting costs and streamlining their security processes, customers are increasingly looking for security suppliers to cross traditional boundaries and offer full solutions integrating previously independent solutions and expertise. The Geutebrück logistics offering takes the company’s traditional surveillance business and expands it to add more value and deliver increased customer benefits in the supply chain market.
