New IP outdoor dome series

1 January 2013 Products & Solutions

Hikvision recently released a new vandal-resistant IP dome camera series – the DS-2CD72 series – for outdoor surveillance. This product line features functionalities, such as a motorised varifocal lens and a super low-light capability to provide high-quality images in both day and night.

The DS-2CD72 series IP outdoor dome cameras also provides various resolution offerings, ranging from VGA to 5 megapixel. These allow users the ability to choose their own specific products to best fit their own specific needs.

This motorised varifocal lens is incorporated into the dome cameras for easy focusing, and allows the user to adjust the camera through Hikvision’s remote zoom and focus feature. This functionality permits the lens focusing process to be completed remotely on a computer, quickly and easily, without the usual hassle. If the camera ever loses focus, there is no need for an installer to go back to the camera’s location for a tiresome manual re-focusing. Instead, remote zoom and focus ensures a quick, and accurate, procedure to zoom and focus onto any image.

With the built-in IR cut filter and automatic switch from colour to B/W images, the DS-2CD72 series dome cameras are suitable for both day and night use. Equipped with IR LED illuminators, this camera is able to recognise objects within an IR range of up to 30 m.

Specifically designed for outdoor surveillance, Hikvision’s DS-2CD72 series IP outdoor dome cameras employ an IP66 rating and vandal-resistant housing, ensuring maximum protection for outdoor applications. Complementing these features is a built-in heater and fan which is able to support operating temperatures between -40°C to 60°C.
