Strong director for Security Service Consultants

Lionel Strong has been appointed to the board of directors of Security Service Consultants after many years of loyal service as the company’s general manager.

Strong was born in Kroonstad and educated at the Afrikaanse Hoerskool where he obtained his Matric. He then moved on to Pretoria where he attended the Technikon RSA and completed both the general Commercial Diploma (including subjects like Management, Mercantile Law, Marketing and Economics) and the National Diploma (Police Administration). He then went on to the University of Pretoria to study Police Station Management.

He then had an illustrious career in the South African Police Services, in many senior positions around the country, responsible for a wide range of policing duties. He then joined the Private Security Industry. This culminated in a directorship at Diligence Security and a period at Everite before joining Security Service Consultants.

While still with the SAPS, Lionel was appointed to handle the integration of the ANC and IFP self-defence units into the police services. He was also tasked with handling police investigations into politically motivated criminal activity throughout the country as well as the notorious taxi industries violence.

In 2009 he was elected as chairman of the Gauteng Branch of the Security Association of South Africa.
