Sensormatic Electronics Corporation recently introduced SuperTag II, a lightweight version of the company's popular SuperTag, which has seen more than 500 million units sold to date.
Incorporating Sensormatic's Ultra*Max* anti-theft technology, SuperTag II is smaller, lighter and narrower than the original SuperTag (now called SuperTag Plus), while providing all of the same performance advantages such as high detection rate and the ability to work near foil and metal. Its new lightweight design expands the tag's use to a wide variety of soft and hard good merchandise, such as delicate apparel and other fine goods. SuperTag II also contains a spring gate feature that thwarts attempts to detach the tag with any device other than a certified SuperTag detacher.
Ken Chmiel, Sensormatic's Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Operations and EAS Product Division, said SuperTag II builds on the high standard set by SuperTag, which has become one of the industry's most successful and well-accepted anti-shoplifting solutions.
"Since its introduction, SuperTag has become part of the retail landscape because it is so effective at deterring theft, and now, with SuperTag II, we have an additional hard tag option with features that exceed those of SuperTag."
