The NetCam Series of self-contained digital network cameras and the NetCam DVR from Philips Communication, Security & Imaging (CSI), are the most recent additions to the range of digital security solutions offered by the company.
Viewing
The NetCam Series of digital network cameras is able to keep a watchful eye on business and personal premises and allows the authorised user to view each sector of the surveillance area from the comfort of a PC. Networked via an on-board server allows for up to 100 simultaneous users, the cameras comprise a high-resolution colour camera with wavelet video compression and video motion detection.
Using the standard Internet Explorer or Netscape browser as the viewing platform, the user can choose to view a selection of individual images or a quad screen. The NetCam network interface supports the TCP/IP set of communication protocols, thereby allowing communication on private networks, intranets and the Internet worldwide. In addition, to ensure that only authorised individuals are able to access the information contained in the cameras, security options are available. These include password access protection, IP address filtering and image encryption.
Recording
The Philips NetCam Digital Video Recorder has been specifically designed with surveillance and security in mind and is able to record video images digitally to internal hard drives. Viewing software allows external users to view live imaging while recording and managing all control settings from afar.
The NetCam DVR utilises features such as Digital Motion Detection to intelligently analyse the motion content of all camera input and ensure that the cameras with motion are recorded as a priority.
