Dome cameras installed at airport

August 2001 Surveillance

Surveyor dome cameras from Vicon Industries together with the company's Nova V1422 matrix have recently been installed at Reykjavik Airport. The CCTV installation is part of an extension of the southern concourse of the Leifur Eriksson Air terminal.

The Vicon equipment has been installed by Securitas Iceland which has overseen the entire project, including extensive access control systems.

The Vicon dome cameras are the Surveyor 2000 model. These feature three-phase microstepping motors and a proprietary software driver which delivers smooth and silent operation through the entire range of speeds from 0,25°/s to 300°/s. The units have self-learn tours which simplify programming and allow for in-sequence editing and reverse touring.

The design features a drive mechanism that can be operated independently from the housing, so allowing installers an easy way to test functionality prior to permanent mounting. Extensive menu-based programming configures each unit to individual requirements.
