Vision Catcher has announced the availability of a cost-effective digital video recorder capable of recording all 16 cameras in realtime (25 fps PAL, 30 fps NTSC) with each channel supporting full audio recording.
The new system utilises MPEG 1 compression algorithms and produces a 320 x 240 frame of approximately 4 Kb, including the audio compression. With the ability to network through LAN or WAN, the system is easily expandable to cater for larger volumes of cameras. A simple back-up structure allows for recording to RAID and other back-up systems, giving the opportunity for maximum storage over prolonged periods.
The system allows for simple playback functionality, with full snapshot and zoom facilities combining with 'save as' to any location and a printer out function. Running on Win 2000 Professional the system allows one to playback video recordings without the actual server software.
