Coin Security has introduced new high security cash boxes which use the purpose- designed ARIA padlock and DUO seal combination from Aluvin Securiseal, the largest manufacturer and distributor of security seals in southern Africa.
Kevin Norwitz, Managing Director, Aluvin, describes the ARIA as a keyless padlock with plastic body and metal hasp which is sealed using disposable DUO seals. The body can be used repeatedly but the seal is replaced each time it is broken by a new and unique one.
"The seal, a new development from Envopak in the UK, was originally designed for duty-free trollies on airlines and has become extremely popular in many applications where instant evidence of tampering is required. The reusable padlock is user-friendly and can be attached permanently to the application if required," says Norwitz.
Norwitz emphasises that there is a great deal more to a successful sealing solution than meets the eye.
"Firstly, to many, one seal is as good as the next. This cannot be further from the truth as the application for which it is required dictates the shape, size and design of the seal. Secondly, it must be understood that it is not just the use of the correct seal for a particular application that is important but it is the system behind the security procedure that makes the difference."
Coin Security's GM Operations, Piet Opperman, says that the role of security seals cannot be underestimated in his business. Instant proof of tampering is essential in the cash-in-transit business and security seals are the answer to this need.
