Kalatel's Crosspoint 32 matrix switching system includes the KTD-348 master switcher which can be ordered in a number of configurations, from 16-input by 4-output to 32-input by 4 or 8-output. The basic model can be ordered and expanded later.
Standard features include looping video alarms, 32 progammable alarm inputs and an RS232 computer interface that allows users to control the system with a computer or even other manufacturer's equipment. There are expansion accessories available, all created for field implementation. For remote switching, the installer simply sets up one Crosspoint 32 in the remote building and runs one twisted-pair control cable back to a Kalatel Digiplex IV master switcher.
For bigger systems, the end-user can now pack a 512-camera input by 32-monitor output matrix switching system into just 18 units of rack space with Kalatel's Digiplex IV. This system starts with a KTD-440 master switcher chassis, a cross-mapped switcher with 64 video inputs and 32 monitor outputs requiring only three units of rack space. It grows from there by simply adding modules.
