Banking giant ABSA has selected Panasonic as one of its three preferred suppliers of security equipment.
ABSA's General Manager of Group Security, Mariette Barends, explains that ABSA's security specifications demand that all ABSA branches, of which there are more than 700, are equipped with security surveillance systems that are upgraded on a regular basis. "We need to ensure that our clients, personnel and monies are guarded against internal fraud and external criminals. As a bank we have the added requirement of having security cameras that deliver quality pictures that are able to stand up in court of law if a case goes to trial," explains Barends.
Director of Panasonic's CCVE Systems Department, Mags Anthony, comments that all Panasonic security equipment is SABS and ISO 9002 approved. "ABSA insists that only ISO accredited installation companies are used to install their security equipment. They therefore get optimum results from the equipment as all the necessary procedures have been followed."
The accredited companies installing cameras into the various ABSA branches include AV Electronics and Basix Technologies.
