Hikvision's growth

September 2011 News

For two consecutive years, Hikvision has been recognised as the no. 1 worldwide supplier of DVRs by IMS Research’s World Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment Report 2011. Hikvision was also ranked seventh in the category of network cameras. In terms of CCTV and video surveillance equipment, Hikvision moved up from last year’s fifth position to fourth for this year.

“It is the first time for our network cameras to be listed in the rankings and this affirms the effort we have made over these many years,” said Polo Cai, VP of Hikvision. “In addition to concentrating on the development of high performance back-end products – such as DVRs and NVRs – we are dedicated to enhancing our R&D capability in network cameras, so as to maintain our leadership in this ever-changing market,” Cai said.

Gary Wong, senior research analyst at IMS Research, said that even though Hikvision was established just 10 years ago, the company has shown dynamic growth in recent years and has become one of the market leaders in the video surveillance industry. “While the company continues to gain market share in both its domestic Chinese market and the international market, it will be interesting to see how fast it can continue to grow.”
