Web-based security solution

June 2011 Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

Another local Web-based T&A product hits the market.

Uniclox Technologies’ Vision Unique Time and Attendance and Access Control solution is now fully Web-enabled, allowing business owners to track who enters and leaves high-security areas like warehouses, cashiers areas or executive offices from anywhere in the world, at any time.

Vision Unique iWeb uses RFID or fingerprint terminals to provide employee-specific, shift-specific and zone-specific access control. Terminals can be linked to any computer network; wireless terminals are available for remote locations.

Using any desktop computer, Internet connected laptop or smartphone, managers can monitor security breaches, employee late arrivals and departures and extract accurate, unbiased and detailed reports on Time and Attendance or HR.

Vision Unique has full Time and Attendance capabilities so that owners do not waste time arbitrating overtime or late arrivals, and are always aware who is on the premises at any time. With Uniclox Vision iWeb it is simple to keep labour records updated, and have immediate access to key information any time you need it. Important payroll data is automatically stored safely off your premises, reducing the risk of data loss as well as preventing unauthorised access or modification of HR information, hours worked or pay rates.

Most Web-based time and attendance solutions are simplistic and cannot handle the complexity of multiple shifts and schedules. The Web-enabled solution offers all the software features of Uniclox Vision Unique, but does not require an on-site server or on-going database administration by the client. Terminals are synchronised regularly with the off-site storage on a schedule that suits the client.

The system requires minimal initial investment in infrastructure or software and is particularly suited to companies with a small or flexible workforce, or organisations that prefer to outsource their payroll.

Fees are charged at a fixed monthly ‘per-employee’ rate, ideal for companies who do not want the cost and hassle of in-house IT infrastructure and staff.

This Web-enabled solution frees working capital for other projects, reduces risk, ensures data integrity and eliminates ongoing software licensing, upgrade and training costs. Customers can migrate from a hosted service to one of the traditional on-site solutions at any time.
