Fill up with megapixel

May 2011 News

Two years ago, AV Enforce Electronics formed a strategic partnership with Arecont Vision, an IP camera manufacturer focused on the migration to a networked platform using megapixel technologies.

Arecont Vision’s implementation of H.264 compression technology provides security professionals with multistreaming capabilities at different video formats, frame rates and resolutions. H.264 is the next generation video compression format developed for use in high definition systems. The aim is to create a standard capable of providing good video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards.

Arecont Vision has 1,3 MP, 2 MP, 3 MP, 5 MP and 10 MP cameras in its range. Its SurroundVideo 8 megapixel network series does not just provide a full field view, it is panoramic. This has a dramatic effect in reducing the installation and maintenance cost. This is applicable to both, the 180° and 360° cameras, and this played a role in creating an innovative solution that helped win AVEE Total the Total (SA Petroleum & Oil Company) dealership tender.

Hi-Tech Security Solutions will expand on this project in the next issue.
