Huawei Symantec opens in SA

Huawei Symantec, the JV between US-based software security company Symantec and Chinese hardware manufacturer Huawei, has launched a South African subsidiary office in Johannesburg. The new office will enable Huawei Symantec to more effectively provide its network security and storage solutions to its growing base of customers in South Africa.

Says Edmont Rao, regional director, Sub-Sahara Region, Huawei Symantec, “South Africa is an important market for Huawei Symantec, and the opening of our subsidiary office emphasises our commitment to and our ongoing investment in the region.”

Huawei Symantec’s network security and storage solutions are currently available through its distribution partners, Drive Control Corporation and Mustek. The Johannesburg office will serve as the management and service hub for Huawei Symantec’s growing South African customer base such as Walter Sisulu University, Telkom, MTN, Cell C, Vodacom, FNB, the Aveng Group and other enterprises.
