Point-and-play CCTV

Elvey Security Technologies has released the new Quorum Touch, which takes point-and-play CCTV to an unprecedented level.

Designed to enhance the service provided by security and armed response suppliers to clients, Quorum Touch provides both live and recorded IP video to monitoring personnel. This allows them to manage and record video at the touch of a button and accordingly react immediately to an alarm signal.

Easily integrated into an existing network, whether hard-wired, Wi-Fi, MPEG4, MJPEG or H.264, Quorum Touch brings with it a host of benefits. Boasting an IP touch-screen monitor and built-in network video recorder, live and recorded viewing by security personnel has never been easier.

Searching, too, is simple. Users can scroll backwards and forwards, pause, view video frame by frame, select video snapshots and export partial or entire recordings, depending on the event.

Quorum Touch also supports legacy PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) protocols such as Pelco-P as well as emerging IP-based protocols like Bicom IP and Pelco IP, thus providing hybrid PTZ control. Further, it can operate IP- and serial-based PTZ cameras side-by-side without limiting access to the extended features of individual manufacturers’ devices.

Another huge benefit is that the system can be configured to start playing the live video feed motion should an event occur. This facility allows the event to be brought to the immediate attention of monitoring staff. Its video overlay feature makes it possible for viewers to identify the exact camera and accordingly home in on the precise location of the event.

Even the once-onerous task of exporting video files from the NVR (network video recorder) is now almost child’s play. The operator merely identifies the beginning and end of the captured video, chooses the format in which it should be exported, and then completes the task by saving the files on to an external source.
