Entry-level access control

Web-based system simplifies installation, operations and maintenance for smaller sites.

Honeywell has introduced its new NetAXS-123 access control system. The one-, two- or three-door system completes Honeywell’s portfolio of NetAXS standalone, Web-based access control. The NetAXS offering gives users all the benefits of traditional access control such as helping secure doors, managing employee access and sites remotely and generating reports easily.

The new NetAXS-123 is designed to make security access control easier and more affordable for smaller businesses. It features a flexible, Web-based design that helps users save time and money by reducing or eliminating costs and oversight associated with PC-based systems, by eliminating the expense of servers and software licences. Because of its Web browser interface, multiple users can manage the system from any location and avoid potential hardware issues, including system lock-ups and virus attacks. The embedded Web server gives users full control to monitor and view live events in real-time while allowing users to manually control access areas such as doors and card readers.

NetAXS-123 also enables smaller facilities to leverage the same reliable access control features traditionally available to larger enterprises by simplifying installation procedures, maintenance and operational requirements. For example, NetAXS-123 keeps installation simple and less costly with Power over Ethernet capability, which can tap into existing infrastructure and wiring. Other installation benefits include a small enclosure footprint and an estimated start-up time of 20 minutes for a single door, common application system.

“It does not matter whether you are the facilities manager of a large warehouse or manage a petrol station, you want to ensure the security and safety of your property, employees and customers,” said René von Franquemont, access control product manager, Honeywell Security Group. “The NetAXS-123 system allows a business of any size to buy the level of access control it requires and get it up and running quickly and cost effectively. The system is ideal as an entry-level solution, but it is also flexible enough to grow with your business.”

Current customers of Honeywell’s NetAXS can add a second door or more with the company’s new offering. While NetAXS-123 has been designed for the entry level market, its scalability allows users to scale up as their business grows and protect up to 93 doors per site using a single Web interface. NetAXS users looking to protect facilities with thousands of doors at multiple sites can take advantage of Honeywell’s powerful WIN-PAK access control security system.
