360° IP video

May 2010 Surveillance, Products & Solutions

Mobotix has released its Hemispheric range in South Africa.

The new multifunctional Hemispheric Q24M IP camera from Mobotix is an ultra compact and weatherproof IP dome camera. The Q24M hemispheric has a 360° all-round view, and is able to capture an entire room. One single Q24M replaces the installation of even several standard cameras.

The Q24M includes an integrated distortion correction feature. This feature allows the perspective distortion of the image data to be corrected either in real-time or during a subsequent search. The correction of the lens distortion automatically provides the viewer with an image that appears natural. In just seconds, the user can independently fine-tune the live image in the panorama image generated by the camera.

M24M series

The M24M series from Mobotix is fully equipped with IP66-certifed housing, can operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +60°C, and does not require a heater or a fan.

Five interchangeable lenses with image angles ranging from 15° to 90° are available for the M24M. The 90° wide-angle lens allows an entire room to be monitored from just one corner. A telephoto lens enables the camera to record a licence plate number from a distance of approximately 75 m, or even the serial number of a bill from a distance of 2 m. Mobotix also offers night versions with a particularly light-sensitive B/W image sensor for use in poor lighting conditions.

The Q24M and M24M have a new microprocessor and a modified system platform, which enables smooth video frame rates of up to 30 fps, even at a megapixel resolution.

The storage capacity is sufficient for around 400 000 panorama images or 33 hours of film (32 GB MicroSD).
