South Africa-based specialist IT security company, Securicom, has appointed Patrick Evans, as director of business development.
Evans has over 35 years’ experience in the IT field. He founded IT service management consulting firm, Foster-Melliar, which pioneered Security Compliance, now known as ITGRC, and IT Service Management (ITSM and ITIL), now adopted by most companies as best practice for the management of IT systems, in South Africa.
He ran the company for 10 years before selling Foster-Melliar’s security business to Symantec in 2001. He then spent seven and a half years as the African regional director at Symantec, the world’s largest information security and availability company, before joining Netcure, a consulting services partner to Symantec.
