Norbain wins AVerMedia distribution

April 2010 News & Events

The signing of an exclusive agreement between global surveillance technology specialist AVerMedia and security product distributor Norbain SA has brought a new range of IP video network integration, multimedia and presentation products into South Africa.

The deal gives South Africa’s security industry direct access to the AVerMedia Group’s stable of products and systems, says John Loftus, managing director of Norbain SA.

AVerMedia has awarded sole distribution rights for its IP range in South Africa to Norbain SA. Loftus says AVerMedia provides a wide range of applications to multiple industries. “AVerMedia continuously sets the standards for digital visual clarity and quality by combining innovation with functionality. From retail, casinos, hotels, airports and government sites to hospitals, sports stadia, educational institutions, banks and even vehicles, AVerMedia has the right surveillance solution to meet customers’ requirements and budgets,” he says.

According to Loftus, AVerMedia’s success lies partially in its ability to bridge the gap between IP and analogue camera technology through its IP camera streaming (MegaPixel and HD Camera Resolutions) and embedded, standalone and Windows-based solutions.

To this end, AVerMedia’s IP, hybrid and Windows-based network video recorders (NVRs) will head up its product line at Norbain SA, supported by the following products:

* Embedded hybrid solutions: 8/16ch embedded Linux hybrid DVR.

* NVR solutions: 4/8/16ch standalone NVR/IP camera recorder – embedded systems.

* Wi-Fi DVR (up to four AverMedia wireless cameras).

* 32ch NVR/IP camera recorder.

* 4/8/16/32ch NVR software/IP camera recorder (USB Windows dongle solution).

* 4/8/16/32ch NVR software/IP camera recorder (DVR card solution).

* IP cameras (wired or wireless).

* External SATA RAID storage devices for AVerMedia hybrid and NVR Range.
