Condyn adds to its arsenal

March 2010 Information Security

Condyn has expanded its IT security distribution network with the addition of Trend Micro and McAfee.

Trend Micro has appointed information security solution provider, Condyn, as a distributer for the African market.

Trend Micro’s technology has a clear focus on the specific security challenges for the dynamic data centre. Its server and application protection capabilities provide defence in depth through firewall, IDS/IPS, Web application protection, integrity monitoring and log inspection in a single solution.

With today’s budget constraints and the mandate to go green, organisations are demanding that their IT infrastructure be more lean, efficient and cost-effective than ever. To meet these goals, they are consolidating applications and storage onto fewer servers, reducing hardware footprints and energy usage. Trend Micro’s Deep Security server and application protection software allows systems to become self defending by providing comprehensive, manageable protection across physical, virtualised and cloud computing environments.

Jorina van Rensburg, CEO of Condyn says, “With the appeal of the cost savings and increased flexibility offered by virtualisation, many African organisations are asking: Can today’s data centre balance this flexibility with the need to maintain security policies and control over applications?

“We believe that Deep Security provides the answer to this question and so we are excited to be adding Trend Micro’s solutions to the Condyn range.”

“The delivery of Trend Micro’s server security portfolio through a recognised IT security distributor with a high level of experience and knowledge, such as Condyn, will allow us to extend our reach across the African continent and provide more businesses than ever with our dynamic data centre security solutions,” says Simon Young, GM, Server Security, EMEA, for Trend Micro.

McAfee VAD

Condyn has also been named as a value-added distributor (VAD) for Africa by McAfee.

According to Jayson O’Reilly, regional manager for Africa at McAfee, the company expects that Condyn’s experience within the African market will facilitate an extended reach for McAfee products across the continent.

“Condyn, an enterprise security solution specialist that began its relationship with McAfee following its acquisition of Secure Computing in 2008, has the in-depth skills and expertise to provide total security solutions to enterprise customers. Leveraging this ability and expertise, we are confident that Condyn is the ideal partner to assist in furthering McAfee’s development and reach the local market,” he explains.
